The case
Peacock Container B.V. specializes in the international leasing of tank containers for transporting liquid products such as foods, semi-finished chemical products and finished products. This means that Peacock has a highly varied clientele and a worldwide network of agents that lease out the fleet. Maintenance on the fleet, currently numbering 1500 vehicles, is contracted to depots, mostly in Rotterdam and Antwerp. Peacock’s head office is in Rotterdam.

The challenge
Leasing provides Peacock a great deal of flexibility with its highly diverse fleet. Many standard tank containers have steam-heated units, varying in volume from 21 m³ to 27 m³. But Peacock also has ‘specials’, such as electrically heated tank containers, swapbodies (30 m³ - 35 m³) and tank containers with several compartments. The development of the fleet must remain manageable for Peacock to serve all its customers well.
